Overview:
At Heartland Restaurant Group, a proud franchisee of Dunkin', the District Manager (DM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations in alignment with Dunkin’ standards, franchisee policies, and applicable laws. The DM provides strong, positive leadership to their team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and profitable growth within a single restaurant location.
Position Summary:
As a District Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of 5 to 6 Dunkin' locations, ensuring each store meets or exceeds business objectives. You will lead, support, and develop Restaurant Managers and their teams, driving performance across operations, guest satisfaction, staff development, and financial results. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused role requiring a strong presence in the field and a passion for operational excellence and customer service.
Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple stores to ensure alignment with brand and operational standards.
- Guide and translate business strategies into actionable plans at the store level.
- Support restaurant teams in delivering high standards in food quality, cleanliness, and speed of service.
- Conduct regular site visits and audits to monitor performance, compliance, and team morale.
- Execute new product roll-outs and operational initiatives including marketing, training, and sampling programs.
Team Development & Coaching
- Recruit, train, and mentor Restaurant Managers and their teams including shift leaders, bakers, and crew members.
- Foster a positive work culture by promoting teamwork, recognition, and a learning environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development plans.
- Lead by example, upholding company values, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
Guest Experience
- Create and maintain a guest-focused culture in each restaurant.
- Review guest feedback and implement action plans to improve service and satisfaction.
- Ensure staff are trained and equipped to provide a welcoming, responsive, and friendly atmosphere.
Sales & Profitability
- Monitor and manage labor and food costs, inventory levels, and waste to meet budgetary targets.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, increase efficiency, and improve overall profitability.
- Analyze performance data and KPIs to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all restaurants comply with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Conduct self-assessments and implement corrective action plans for brand standard adherence.
- Maintain proper staffing levels and oversee scheduling to support business needs.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of multi-unit management experience in a fast-paced environment (QSR preferred).
- Proven track record of team leadership, operations management, and delivering financial results.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and travel regularly between locations.
- Must be able to perform all duties of a restaurant team member when needed.
