Facilities Technician

Reporting to the Real Estate and Construction Manager, the Facilities Technician is responsible for preventative and routine maintenance of equipment, buildings, and grounds of the restaurants, maintaining operational standards and procedures. The successful candidate will be able to perform all general maintenance and repair functions to keep the interiors and exteriors of the restaurants appealing to our guests and a great environment for our employees, responsible for maintaining multiple restaurant locations in the greater Pittsburgh area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnose repairs on restaurant roof top HVAC units

* Change breakers, relocate, or install outlets, replace light fixtures, and perform basic electrical repairs

* Diagnose and perform basic plumbing repairs, clearing equipment and bathroom drainage backups, installing, or repairing bathroom, handwashing, and ware washing devices

* Repair Insta-heat hot water heaters, repair pipe and drain leaks

* Repair windows, storefront doors, and automatic drive thru windows.

* Carpentry work, drywall repairs, painting, tile repair/replacement, basic concrete repair, filling small potholes

* Efficiency to complete quality work in multiple locations daily, while some work will be more time-consuming, many days will be spent performing minor repairs in multiple restaurants

* Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment needed to perform service of unit

* Basic computer and cell phone knowledge to communicate and update restaurant and management staff on status of repairs through email and the company’s Building Engines work order management platform

* Operate your own vehicle within a 90-minute radius of downtown Pittsburgh

* Work flexible hours as required as well as on-call nights and weekends when assigned

* Communicate diagnosed issues and repair plan to restaurant staff

* Educate and train restaurant staff on troubleshooting, cleaning, preventative maintenance, and other procedures to promote optimal conditions in the restaurant

REQUIREMENTS

* 2+ years of experience in related field

* Technical or Trade School background preferred but not required

* Refrigeration or HVAC background/certification is a plus

* Driver’s License Required along with reliable personal vehicle

* Effective communication, customer service, time management, and diagnostic skills

* Ability to work independently, under pressure, and without close supervision; willing and able to consistently work the schedule required by job demands

* Weekends, evenings, and early morning availability required

* Ability to competently use a variety of gauges, meters, measuring instruments, hoists, rigging equipment, torches, and hand tools.

* Ability to tolerate environmental conditions consisting of extreme heat, cold, noise, vibration, fumes, dust, and poor ventilation

* Ability to lift heavy equipment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* Must be able to work outdoors on roofs, during all seasons

* Bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing on ladders

* Ability to lift equipment at any given time up to 40 lbs

* Ability to work long hours and travel. Potential for overtime

* On-call 24 hours
